Fantastic

Good for JLPT test

Good! 

I think this software is the best Japanese learning tool ever made so far. But now, I wish somehow 10,000 words can fit in this software. (^-^;; Anyways, I think its all good! I recommend everyone studying Japanese to buy it!

Awesome app

Awesome app! I wish it had audio like the other programs by this developer that it would be PERFECT hoping for that in the future :)

Brilliant

Wow, this is perfect! It knows exactly when to retest a card to check if youve really learned it, the correct speed to introduce new words or words you have trouble with to avoid frustration, and all with a sleek, attractive presentation. Its rewarding to see how youre progressing as the cards move into the "older" and "ancient" category. This ap has become my new addiction, and its nice to be able to get some (enjoyable) study in wherever I am and whenever.. whether waiting in line, riding the metro, waiting on a friend, etc. Im enjoying it so much Im going to buy Kanji Flip as well.

The best flash card program out there (at least for Japanese)

I have learned an amazing amount of words in 3 months thanks to this Application. That alone warrants its costs. The words come up perfectly in sequence just as I am about to forget them. Even if I have forgotten them I soon remeber them again. I am amazed at the speed of this system. I only wish my Iphone and this were available when I started 6 years ago. I only wish I could edit the cards myself. Please come up with a application for your own designed flash cards.

Excellent for people who already know hiragana and katakana

Simple but deep vocabulary review. I love the way the program learns what words you need to practice, and the way the vocab accumulates as you progress through the JLPT levels so that you never forget old words. Perfect for intermediate learners.

One of the best learning tools!

Andres done a good job in making it very simple, fast and easy to use. Ive used other "vocabulary memorization" tools, but this is just awesome. I dont have to carry cards with me and it keeps track of what I know and dont know. So far, this is my favorite vocabulary learning app!

Want to give it 4Stars ... But

First off this is great flash card program; you did a great job putting this together! If people are expecting something else, they should look elsewhere. Using wrong and right to indicate that you didnt know a card or you that you knew it strikes me as odd choices. This made me question if a card was right when flipping it and I found myself in the Kotoba app verifying your entries since picked up this app a few days ago. Also heres something you could fix; I cant run this app while on the phone (yea I know its rude :p) as the sizing doesnt adjust. The lower buttons get lost. Continue to improve this; you can tweak it a little more still!

good for self-trainning

if you want to study japanese kanji and word whenever time happens, this app is a good choice.

Best app for JLPT prep

I have 14 apps to learn Japanese. This is by far the best of them. If you are preparing for the JLPT then you need this app. Has ability to add more words to the built-in list. Constate reinforcement of the words needed for JLPT make it a great app.

Excellent Study Tool!

Im in love with this application. It has really helped me improve my word retention! The study algorithm is very effective, and it tests you just between the right intervals to maximimize memorization. I also like how the words are divided by the four JLPT levels, so it gives you a solid idea on what vocabulary to expect on the exams. The feature that allows you to add your own words works very well, but instead of adding simple words, Ive been adding full sentences to study. My goal is to learn 10,000 Japanese sentences by the end of next year, and this tool is making it possible!

Third best Japanese app on the market (Kanji Flip is #2) must buy!!

Great app! Definitely worth the money, it really tells you if you know your stuff or not, must also buy the kanji flip to help prep for the JLPT

disenchanted

I used this program for 6 months, and it undoubtedly helped me learn a lot of vocabulary. My main complaint with the software is the algorithm used to schedule the words and its lack of flexibility. If you know a word very well, it will still be presented frequently, wasting your precious study time. not enough new words are presented, and it feels like you are really trudging through the vocabulary. I suggest looking for a free program with a more intelligent and adjustable algorithm.

6000 words preloaded

I got this app because it comes with 6000 words already entered for me. I admit that makes me sound lazy, but I dont have time to add all the words on my own. There are many ways to study here. You can turn the furigana on if you want to concentrate on learning the meanings of the words instead of having to worry about recognizing the kanji in the word itself. I havent found any other japanese flash card app that offers this feaure. This feature is surpringly useful when you encounter kanji you havent learned and dont want to look it up. I have taken several semesters of japanese and this app has proven very helpful for me in keeping my knowledge fresh. I would recommend this app to anyone studying japanese even at the beginner level because of the furigana feature and because the words are divided up into sections from easy to expert.

Great Application

If you want to learn Japanese words for the JLPT or just for expanding your vocabulary this is a solid application with a fantastic teaching method. Extremely friendly interface that is easy to use and doesnt get in the way of the material. I like how it displays the word counts on the right to indicate how youre getting along in your studying. The auto progress tracking is far above the flashcard applications out there for Japanese.

Excellent program with only one thing missing

I am currently using this program to help me pass JLPT 2. I can feel it already helping on my 2nd day of using it. HOWEVER, the one thing this program could really use, especially since its aimed at people studying for the JLPT, is EXAMPLE SENTENCES!! Pleaaaase update.

Outstanding Application for Learning Kanji and Additional Vocabulary

The few dollars this cost was an excellent investment. This application is for serious students who have progressed to the point of reading Japanese. This application is not for the absolute begginner. It assumes you can already read Hiragana and Katakana. For my purposes, this application alone made the purchase of my iPod Touch worhwhile. The application allows you to toggle the furigana pronunciation of the kanji on or off. I use it off. It repeats kanji and the artificial intellegence remembers which kanji you have learned and whick ones are difficult for you. The feature is excellent. This is just a perfect app for learning and reviewing kanji. Its a stand alone app and doesnt require connection. You get the entire content with the app and dont have to purchase anything else...Highly recommneded for the serious student or anyone living in Japan.

Its good but...

One major issue. When you go from English to Japanese, the part in ( ) gives a hint to the answer. This should be updated asap.

Japanese Flip & an iTouch too!

My husband and I love using the Flip apps. We both use Japanese Flip and Kanji Flip. He has an iPhone, so he found the apps first. He showed them to me and from there we both ended up using his iPhone to practice Japanese. He might have found the apps first, but soon he was getting mad at me because I used his iPhone all the time. Memorizing Japanese words is challenging, and I enjoy doing it. Too much it seems. I could tell he was getting mad at me for pestering him to use his iPhone, so for my birthday he got me my own iTouch with both Japanese apps on it. Now theres no problem and I got this great iTouch to boot. So not only is it fun to use this app for Japanese, but I got my own iTouch because of how addicting it was.

Portable Japanese Vocab

I bought this app because I am traveling a lot, and do not have access to the internet. Its totally offline. So I use it for at least 45 minutes on my commute while inflight. I cant seem to put it down once I get going. I have also shown it to the people at some of the Japanese restaurants I go to. They couldnt put it down once I showed it to them. Very funny to see native Japanese people challenge themselves with the words on Expert. Terrific value for the price. Two thumbs up
